Be Impeccable

To be Impeccable with your words is to speak your Truth. Your Truth reflects who you are “Right Now” and not who you hope to be based on the world’s expectation of you. Be Impeccable with your words!

Are The Golden Years Really Golden?

As I was going through the self-checkout at Target a few weeks back, an elderly attendant started a conversation with me. She started out speaking about her ill husband, but ended saying “I’m in my Golden Years, but there’s nothing Golden about these Years”. I sighed, gave her a smile and walked away. As I headed to my car my thoughts started to wonder the meaning of her words. We spend our young lives working and saving for the future somehow thinking that things will be great then, but not realizing that the Most Important Time in Your Life is NOW! It’s hard for many of us to seize every moment (we’re so busy throughout the day), so instead try to appreciate every time you awaken from sleep. I’m thankful to open my eyes and see another day!

People Buy Into You, But You Have To Buy Into Yourself

The words in the title came directly from my youngest brother after publishing my first book on Amazon yesterday.  After clicking the Amazon “Publish” button I felt immediate elation followed by pure adrenaline to let others know about my book; followed by gratitude when family and friends shared my book with others; followed by “why would someone be interested in what I have to say”.

These words I shared with my brother, and he reminded me that I am unique and what I bring to the world is unique.  He talked about producing music and not knowing if others would like it, yet alone buy it.  But he did it anyway!  By the way he is a successful platinum producer.

I am unique and what I have to say matters to me . . .  and maybe, just maybe to someone else too!

It’s Never Too Late To Start Again

I choose to believe that until you take your last breath, you can always start or restart something that your heart desires.  There’re no deadlines, no standard of excellence, and no rules or restrictions.

Honor Your Body

There’s a saying that you are what you eat, but what about what you absorb into your skin. I’m blogging about this because my sister asked me to do so. She’s currently in the hospital fighting blood poisoning. Blood poisoning…..how do you get that? Well after doing some research the two most prominent ways is through the lungs and the skin. In my sister’s case, it was the skin.  Seeking to achieve a certain hairstyle, she used a product that immediately started to create discomfort throughout her whole body. After self-medicating for several weeks she checked herself into the hospital and was diagnosed with blood poisoning. She’s currently receiving antibiotics intravenously.

Several weeks prior to this incident I threw out two trash bags full of skin and hair products that contained harmful ingredients. It didn’t matter what it cost me or how much was left in the container, it all went into the garbage.

My lesson is that I AM:

  • What I Eat
  • What I Absorbed Into My Body
  • What I Absorbed Into My Mind

The “Soul Mist”

I’ve heard about a lot of things when people transition from this life (i.e. vivid dreams of their loved ones, cold sensations embracing their bodies and more) but I had never heard of the Soul Mist until this past Sunday when my beloved cousin Joel made his transition.  My sister and brother performed CPR on my cousin Joel while waiting for the EMS to arrive.  They performed CPR for about 12 minutes and once EMS was there, they took over and continued to work on him for another hour.  Unfortunately EMS was unable to resuscitate him.  Later I spoke with my sister on the phone and she said “Cynthia I’m not sure what I saw, but while performing CPR on Joel I remember seeing a white puff of air come from his mouth.  It didn’t look like smoke, but more like a vapor”.  She then said that she asked my brother if he saw it too, he agreed.  They stayed up that night on the phone until about 5am reliving the whole situation.  I also stayed up researching what this could have been.  I reached out to my brother the following morning with an email where I included some information on “Soul Mist”.  His email response to me was ” I wasn’t going to say anything because I didn’t want (my sister) to think I was going out my mind but I’m thankful she saw it”.

The “Soul Mist” from what I researched is:

” In her journal, Louisa May Alcott, (below) the author of Little Women, wrote of being present at a deathbed and watching “a light mist” rise from the body, float up and vanish in the air.  Her mother saw the same thing and the attending physician told them that it was “the life” departing visibly.”

I also read this:

“that soul mist might be discharged quickly by some dying people – those better prepared to leave their bodies—and be very slowly discharged by most people, so slow that it isn’t noticeable”

This is all so new to me but yet comforting as well.  So I walk away somehow knowing For Sure that my cousin Joel is still with us, just in a different form.  Thank you Joel for continuing to keep us informed.  Bless You!

You are the Most Important Thing in Your Life

It’s been 3 months since my last post.  All I can say is that “life happens”, but what I realize is that “we make time for “things” that are important to us”!

Yes some of us must work; drive children to and from events; cook and clean; take care of aging parents; and the list goes on and on.  But when it’s all said and done, have you  honored that “thing” tugging deep inside your soul?  That “thing” longing to be heard, seen or felt?  Make time for the most important “THING” in your life, YOU!

Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder… But Inner Beauty is Undeniable

A friend wanted my thoughts on why at 5:30 am after a grueling workout someone would call her beautiful.

Well my friend it is true that we all have our ideas of what physical beauty is to us, but when you accept yourself with all of your perceived flaws (in the eyes of the “True Beholder” we have no flaws) your inner beauty can’t help but shine through.

It takes courage and commitment to:

  • change the uncomplimentary dialogue placed in your head by others (i.e. family, friend, media) – THEIR OPINIONS OF YOU IS NONE OF YOUR SPIRITUAL BUSINESS
  • change any/all negative ways you speak about yourself to others (i.e. I’m just too ____ for that!) – WORDS DO HAVE POWER
  • change the way you think negatively about yourself (i.e. throughout the day and before you retire) – THOUGHTS DO BECOME THINGS

When you conquer the above, you can’t help but walk differently, talk differently, stand differently, smile differently and “LOOK” differently.

So when asked “Where does your Beauty lie?”  You can give the long in-depth answer, or you can simply say “I Woke Up Like This”.

You Grow the Most When you Go Through the Most

It’s so easy to be Spiritually Evolved and Centered when life is predictable and easy.   But when:

  • The unexpected Shows Up and Shows Out
  • All of your Proactive Plans fall through the cracks
  • You no longer recognize the Person in the Mirror

Now you have an Opportunity to see what you are really made of.  Lip-service can’t pull you through these moments, action is required!  Yes, it’s okay to feel angry about unpleasant or spiteful acts directed towards you, but the KEY is to know when to let it GO!  Now you’re exercising those Spiritual Muscles.  Now you’re getting Stronger, now you’re becoming Spiritually Evolved and Centered.
