It’s Never About the Destination, But Always About the Journey

Traveling to Sedona Arizona last weekend I realized how our simple actions mirror how we live our lives.  As I rode to Sedona I noticed how the driver of our car [name unknown] was accelerating and maneuvering the car, not allowing other cars to cut in front and speeding just to keep up with the fast-moving cars.  I also noticed other drivers leisurely moving along and still others stopping along the way to take pictures of the beautiful landscape.

The beauty of life is to take in as much of what life has to offer.  If you rush through life multi-tasking, over-working, over-planning and keeping up with others, you will miss out on the best part of life. THE JOURNEY!

I See Myself and I Give Myself Permission to be Myself

Today I went to see Tyler Perry’s movie “Temptation”.  As I watched the movie I searched for “me, my life situation” in the movie.  I didn’t see me.  Once the movie ended I couldn’t move from my seat for a few minutes, feeling something but not able to recognize what it was.  As I was driving to my favorite store “Target” an overwhelming feeling came over me.  This feeling said “be that person you secretly desire to be right now!”.  Last weekend I attended a Self-Expression/Embracing the Inner You party.  At that gathering I presented my inner Jamaican girl persona, wearing vibrant colors, large earrings, but mostly feeling a sense of freedom to just “Be” within.  What I now realize is that the viewing of this movie allowed me to let-down my guards so that I could hear what I already knew but was reluctant to embrace fully.

The Faster You Agree With Negative People, The Sooner They Leave

My dad told me something a long time ago that I continue to live by today.  He said “when approached by the devil, hurry up and agree with him so that he can get out of your way”.  When confronted with negative people, agree with them quickly so that the conversation ends quickly.  Many of us (myself included) debate with negativity somehow thinking we can change or make a difference, not realizing in that moment, the amount of mental, physical and spiritual energy being depleted from us.  It’s only after the conversation has ended that we feel drained.  To agree does not mean you’re compromising yourself, it means you’re preserving yourself for something greater.

How Do You Eat An Elephant? One Bite At A Time.

This past month I’ve experienced a lot of CHANGE.  A month ago I spent a lot of time stressing and dreading the overwhelming CHANGE I would encounter.  Eventually the CHANGE was upon me and all I could do was surrender and walk through it.  Surprisingly it wasn’t that bad at all.  Yes there was a lot to do within a certain timeframe, but I’m still standing!  What I’ve re-learned is that “don’t bite off more than you can chew”, and in time you can conquer anything placed before you!

What’s Your Story?

We go through life living the stories given to us by our:

  • families
  • friends
  • co-workers
  • mere acquaintances
  • detractors
  • and so on

Many of us are unaware that it’s not our story, while others try to live up to the expectations placed upon them.

At some point along this life journey, if and when you seek an authentic existence, you will have to discard others beliefs about who you are and begin to Live-Out-Loud.  Living-Out-Loud to me means to allow what inside to manifest outside.  Whose story are you living?

Speaking from the Heart

As we close-out 2012 there’s a few things I want to share:

  • Find time to Laugh and Play more
  • Shorten your “To Do List”
  • Remember your Cellphone is for your convenience don’t let it interrupt your Fun
  • When you’re unsure what to do, don’t do anything!  Don’t rush into something only to find out that it doesn’t feel right in the end.  Take time to get quiet and still, and just listen.  You will hear it, and better yet you will feel it.

Sending Peace and Blessings To All

Soul Mate versus “Love of Your Life”

The other day I received a text message asking if there is a difference between a Soul Mate and the “Love of Your Life”.  My answer is yes.

I believe that when you connect with a Soul Mate, your souls immediately know each other because of the energy vibration.    Also there’s this unspoken knowingness that all is good and that Love in all its forms and facets is the only thing that matters.

“Love of Your Life” limits you to this life on this earth.  We speak on falling in and out of Love with others, basing Love on how another person makes us feel (infatuation runs rampant) even though the other person has nothing to do with your loving.

To know Love is to understand God’s Love.  It’s all inclusive, no sorting out what you don’t like.  However please understand that you have the right to choose whether you want to Love close-up or from a distance.

How Are You Using Your Energy?

As I posted earlier, Energy is Real.  So what’s going on in your head?

Are you:

  • Constantly Worrying
  • Stuck on Complaining
  • Held Back by Fear

Whatever you constantly think about will eventually manifest into your Reality.  And if you couple those thoughts with deep, strong feelings, then the manifestation will come about sooner and more intense.

So I ask again, What’s going on in your Head?

Energy Is Real

As I sit and type these words tonight, there is an Energy that surrounds me.  I can feel it and I can hear it.  I tried to block it, quiet it and ignore it, but it’s still there.

When unfamiliar things enter our lives it’s often uncomfortable, but the sooner we stop trying to label it and categorize it the sooner we begin to understand it.

So here I sit allowing this energy to consume me.  I surrender.

Gratitude is Thanksgiving

To me Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday because it promotes Gratitude for the simplest of things.  When you exist in the space of “Gratitude and Thanksgiving” greater good  and abundance can easily flow your way.

I’m Grateful that I understand this “Truth”!
